Explore the Ancient City: The Cork City Walls Tour

Cork City 1690 AD
Historical depiction of Cork Walled City in 1690

Learn how Cork City began and developed through the centuries.

Take this unique 90 minute tour around the old Cork City Walls area and discover who built them, when, how and why. In addition, this tour will point out and describe:

  • The English Market
  • Kings & Queens Old Castle
  • The Shandon Quarter
  • Historic North-South Main Street
  • Old Elizabeth Fort
  • Saint Finbarre’s Cathedral

On this walk you will discover things about Cork that you won’t hear about anywhere else. It is led by myself, Paul Lee. I’m an architect and love to study history and- of course- the old architecture of Cork City.
